Flesh, Blood, Even A Heart

When her estranged father’s stroke traps her in a chaotic Soviet-era-like hospital, Liv, a master at suppressing emotion, must confront (or avoid) painful childhood memories, a shaky relationship, and the complicated love we feel for those who let us down. Yes, this is a story about daddy issues. No, you can’t call them that.

The film is the second feature by one of Latvia’s boldest contemporary directors, Alise Zariņa, and had its world premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) 2025.
